As the season grinds on the perennial powers are starting to
emerge again. BU is back in the Bean Pot final and on top of the Hockey East
Standing. They have the 18 year old
super star in Jack Eichel who will be the USA to pick in this year’s NHL draft.
Sr Evan Rodreques leads the team in goals with 26, one more than Eichel. Boston College has emerged again and their
overall record has them in second place. Their top 4 point getters are 2 sophomore
and 2 freshman. They do not have a top superstar but they get
scoring form everyone. Lowell have
won Hockey East for 2 years running.
They have plenty of offence and an excellent coach in Norm Bazin. 4 out of
their 6 top scores are sophomores. One is a freshman and the other a JR.
Providence and
Vermont are tied for 4th. Providence the small Catholic school out
of Providence RI. UVM joined the league in 2005 and are searching for their
first championship. Both of these schools want the elusive 4th place
to avoid the ever dangerous opening round.
