2015 World Junior Ice Hockey

Playoff round

Well my USA team was knocked out of the Junior Championship by Russia for the second year in a row.

    I wish they were still in contention which would have made todays games that much more interesting. My yanks won 2 of the last 5 tournaments (2010 and 2013). This year playing in our northern neighbors back yard, expectations were high. We has a legitimate star in BU's Eichiel but the team suffered to many penalties against Russia.

  The surprise team is Slovakia who I will be rooting for against the mighty Canadians. Slovakia has only medaled once in 1999. They earned a bronze in Canada that year.


  Germany was surprisingly bounced from the top group and we will have Belarus taking their sport next year in Finland.
