3-4

Possibly the deepest it’s ever been, the North features six teams with legitimate hopes of making it to the Super Bowl.

The 4 v 5 Haverhill are ranked and their only loss is against The Prep at St Johns on opening day. They have the same record as Central (6-1) and even beat Central but they got the 4th seed. Unfortunately for the Hillies they drew perennial power Everett. This is a first-round matchup for the ages Friday night. Hillies running back JC Laguerre heads a group of 22 starting seniors who’ve won six straight while scoring over 32 points per game.

3 v 7 Seeded seventh, Andover has BC bound QB EJ Perry who has passed already for 2060 yards and rushed for 514. Andover travels to Lexington in what may be the first high school game to feature nary a single defensive stop. Lexington is undefeated and won the Liberty League against Reading Memorial.

1 v 8 While Central Catholic (5-1) projects as the favorite of the group and should dispatch Methuen again in the playoffs.

3 v 6 St. John’s Prep has emerge behind the impressive exploits of junior quarterback Mike Yarin (13 touchdown passes) and senior wideout Hayden Rockett (7 touchdown receptions). They will play a tough Acton Boxboro team but the battle tested Hawks will prevail at home.Top of Form

Prediction is sdfMy fearless prediction is there will be an all Catholic Championship game with Central beating the Prep in the Final.
